Times And Methods You Need

Cooking lobster should be something that you do! You don't have to wait until the next opportunity to visit a restaurant to enjoy lobster but prepare it at home. Purchase your lobster through a lobster direct mail company (found right on the web) and have the lobster delivered fresh to your door. This gives you the finest quality and the freshest lobster possible. Most importantly, it provides you with an amazing meal anytime that you want it.

How To Prepare

Cooking lobster can be done in several ways. Here are some tips and instructions for several of the most popular methods.

1. Steaming lobster. One of the most beneficial ways to prepare lobster is to steam it as it provides protection to the lobster's tender meat. You will need to cook lobster in this method in a large enough pot with at least two inches of seawater or heavily salted water at the bottom. For one pound of lobster, steam for about ten minutes. For 1 ½ pounds of lobster, you will need 14 minutes and for 2 pounds of lobster you will need 18 minutes. 3 pounds will require up to 30 minutes and 5 pounds will need at least 40 minutes.

2. Boiling lobster is another fabulous preparation method. Here, provide at least three quarts of water for every 1 ½ pounds of lobster. You will want to add a good amount of salt to the water as well. Once water is boiling add live lobster to the body. For one pound, 8 minutes of boiling is required. For 1 ½ pounds, 12 minutes. 2 pounds requires 15 minutes; 3 pounds requires 25 minutes and 5 pounds up to 40 minutes.

3. Grilling lobster is one of the most in demand methods of preparing lobster. You can and should par boil the lobster first. You can then store them in the refrigerator until you are ready to cook them. Once you are ready, do take the time to clean them before grilling them. Then, place on the grill (buttered or covered with olive oil) for about five minutes per side.

Cooking lobster isn't difficult once you learn the proper method of doing so. Making sure you buy fresh lobster is the Key. Change the flavor by adding different seasonings that please your palate. Enjoy lobster any time that you want to by taking the time to learn how cooking lobster at home is enjoyable and it can be simple as well.
